TRIAL: The Economist 1843-2003

The Library have a trial of The Economist 1843-2003 until 24th November 2007. Currently we have The Economist available, but only from July 1990 onwards.

To access this trial go to The Economist 1843-2003 and login with the trial username and password. You will need to type in your MWS username and password to access the trial username and password.

The current site includes 70% of the overall content. Full upload of the 1843-2000 section will be completed by 10th December 2007 with the remaining three years (2001-2003) being uploaded at the beginning of 2008.

New! ScienceDirect and Blackwell Synergy e-journal backfiles purchased

The Library are delighted to announce that we have been able to purchase almost all of the remaining Elsevier e-journal backfiles on the ScienceDirect platform. We now have access to the full backfiles of more than 1,400 e-journals on ScienceDirect.

We have also been able to purchase all of the remaining Blackwell Publishing e-journal backfiles and now have access to the full backfiles of more than 200 e-journals on Blackwell Synergy. We will be granted access to the backfiles of the remaining titles as the digitisation process is completed by the publisher and the titles are released on Synergy.

Catalogue records are in the process of being updated, and SFX (the software underlying 'find it @ liverpool') has been quickly updated and will be updated more carefully later on.

New, improved A-Z list of e-journals - try it out!

The Library has just launched a new, improved A-Z list of e-journals. You can use this to search for journal titles, abbreviated journal titles, words in title and publisher. You can also search for journal titles in specific subject areas, such as, Business, Economy & Management; Information Technology; and Health Sciences (including a section on Public Health).

If you want to go straight to a journal article, search for the journal and then type in the Year, Volume, Issue and Start page details and click the GO icon.

You will need to login to EZproxy with your Managed Windows Service (MWS) username and password to get access.
