Printable version of the Harvard referencing guide available


Have you ever wished that there was a printable, up to date version of the Harvard referencing guide for University of Liverpool online students? Well, some good news, there now is :-)

You can access a printable PDF copy from the referencing guide web page and also from this link.


Do remember though that the guide is sometimes updated, so for the most up to date version please always see the web guide.

Reference management software RefWorks now freely available from Library


The University Library now subscribe to RefWorks and this is free to use for all University of Liverpool users. RefWorks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool. It is designed to help researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies.

To access it follow these instructions:

  1. First make sure you have set this cookie on your PC to tell Athens that you are a member of the University of Liverpool
  2. Go to the RefWorks web site
  3. Select 'Login'
  4. Select 'Athens users' and login with your Managed Windows Service (MWS) username and password
  5. You will now be asked to register. Add your name and email address - YOU MUST USE YOUR UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL EMAIL ADDRESS
  6. Select type of user and area of focus

This registers you as a University of Liverpool user and will give you access to RefWorks.

When you create your references choose the Harvard style of referencing.
